The Park District of Highland Park is looking for a dedicated part-time Custodian responsible for cleaning and maintaining facilities. This role primarily requires evening and weekend availability, ensuring that all areas are clean and well-stocked.
With a high school diploma or GED, previous custodial experience is preferred. Key duties include operating cleaning equipment, performing light maintenance, and ensuring proper safety protocols are followed. Benefits include a pension plan and health club membership.
The part-time Custodian is responsible for routine daily facility cleaning during hours in which the facility is open and closed. This position is responsible for the appearance and cleanliness of the facility. This part-time position will have a schedule that is typically evening and weekend hours but may be asked for daytime availability of coverage of other shifts as needed. The custodial staff will receive direction from Building Engineer(s) and will be required to work independently.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of cleaning methods. Previous custodial experience is preferred.
Wage Range: $15.50 - $18.00 per hour
Classification: Part-Time IMRF, non-exempt
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am - 2:30pm

The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee may be exposed to chemicals, dust, odors, and potentially slippery surfaces. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
