Job summary

Harford County Public Schools is seeking a Custodian II for Old Post Road Elementary School on Shift 1. This full-time, twelve-month position performs routine cleaning, maintenance, and supervision of custodial staff to ensure a safe, clean school environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, read instructions, and follow safety procedures. Experience in custodial or related trades is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of custodial or related experience preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, and apply written instructions and safety data.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
• Directs and follows up on custodial staff work and ensures standards are met.
• Inspects work and directs corrective actions for satisfactory performance.
• Maintains inventories, requisitions supplies, and ensures security of items.
• Reports needed repairs and assists during emergencies.
• Supports special events preparation and checks time cards.
