County College of Morris is seeking a custodial staff member to perform routine cleaning across campus buildings, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting, as well as rest room maintenance and light bulb changes.
Responsibilities include assisting with special events, responding to work orders, and winter safety tasks such as snow/ice removal. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and 6 months to 1 year of custodial experience.
Performs a wide variety of routine cleaning duties at campus buildings which includes, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, vacuum cleaning and dusting tasks and changing of light bulbs. Performs special custodial assignments which includes shampooing ofcarpets, stripping, waxing and spray buffing of floors and stairwells. Maintains rest rooms which includes cleaning of walls, sinks, fixtures, toilets and mirrors. Replenishes towels, tissues and soap dispensers. Empties trash receptacles. Performs recycling duties when necessary. Cleans entrances to buildings. Includes glass on entrance doors and exterior areas to buildings. Polices areas around buildings for litter. Performs work orders assigned by the Custodial Supervisor which are associated with assisting the day custodial staff with set ups of special events and college activities. Clears snow and ice from entranceways, walkways, patios and steps. Shovels or sweeps areas and applies calcium chloride. Performs other duties as assigned which may include, but not limited to, custodial tasks.
High school diploma or equivalency desirable.
Six months – one year experience in custodial maintenance.
