St. Joseph County is seeking a Custodian/Grounds Worker for the Commission on Aging.

The role covers custodial tasks, grounds maintenance, and event setup at the Rivers Enrichment Center and the Oaks Enrichment Center, with on-call duties after hours. Requirements include math and reading skills to read safety materials and regulations, experience in cleaning and minor repairs, and a valid Michigan driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Math skills to measure chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• Reading skills to read instructions, safety materials and regulations.
• Experience in cleaning, grounds keeping, and minor repairs of buildings and equipment.
• Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license.

Responsabilités

• Empties wastebaskets and removes debris; changes liners and recycles.
• Uses vacuums and carpet sweepers; performs spot carpet cleaning.
• Dusts and polishes furniture; removes marks and cobwebs.
• Cleans and disinfects sinks and restrooms; stocks towels, soap and tissues.
• Follows cleaning checklists for daily/weekly/monthly tasks.
• Cleans walls in offices and restrooms.
• Defrosts and cleans refrigerators and kitchen equipment.
• Maintains custodial supplies inventory; assists with events.
• Oversees program workers assigned to cleaning tasks.
• Operates snow blower and shovel; applies salt on icy surfaces; performs grounds maintenance.
• Assists with cleaning and maintenance of medical equipment and may arrange rentals.
• Cleans agency vehicles and performs minor repairs to equipment.
