Job summary
City of St Joseph is seeking a hands-on Custodian/Facilities Technician to support maintenance and improvement of township facilities and grounds in Michigan. The role involves mowing, snow plowing, cemetery grounds work, equipment operation, and custodial tasks with a focus on reliable service.
The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CDL Class A, and a valid Michigan driver’s license, plus willingness to work overtime.
Qualifications
- Must possess high school diploma or equivalent; some college or related technical training preferred.
- Two or more years in building and grounds maintenance, custodial or equivalent experience preferred.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid CDL Class A license with no restrictions and no major traffic offenses.
- Must maintain a valid State of Michigan driver’s license with no major traffic convictions.
- Must perform job duties with minimal supervision and be willing to work overtime, evenings, and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Mow township facilities and parks properties.
- Maintain greenways, snow plowing, and bed maintenance.
- Assist in burial site preparation and cemetery grounds maintenance.
- Operate plow equipment, tractors, hi-lo and dump truck as needed.
- Perform custodial maintenance and maintain related records.
- Respond to customer complaints regarding maintenance of facilities and grounds.
