Job summary

CBRE is seeking a custodial associate to maintain clean indoor and outdoor facilities. The role includes cleaning high-traffic areas, stocking restrooms, and routine landscaping tasks as part of a team. The position runs Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm, in Houston, TX.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of related experience. The job emphasizes safety, physical stamina, and reliable teamwork in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily cleaning support to high-traffic areas of the building as directed by the supervisor.
• Stock bathrooms with toilet paper, towels, Kleenex, and soap.
• Sweep, vacuum, wipe, and mop storage areas, hallways, and restrooms.
• Dust furniture, walls, and equipment; move and rearrange items as needed.
• Clean windows, glass, and mirrors using appropriate cleaners.
• Ensure cleaning supplies are stored safely at all times.
• Follow standardized cleaning processes per company standards.
• Attend required trainings and staff meetings.
• Cut grass with walk-behind or riding mowers (<2000 lbs); trim hedges and edges.
• Prune shrubs/trees, apply fertilizer, and perform seasonal landscaping.
• Water lawns during dry periods and remove litter from outdoor areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

This position performs routine custodial and grounds maintenance duties to maintain clean, safe, and well-kept interior and exterior facilities in accordance with established procedures and company standards.

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm

Primary Job Functions

Custodial Duties

• Provide daily cleaning support to high ‑ traffic areas of the building designated by the supervisor.
• Stock bathrooms with toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex, and soap.
• Sweep, vacuum, wipe, and mop storage units, hallways, restrooms, elevators, etc.
• Dust furniture, walls, and equipment, including moving and rearranging items as needed.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Ensure that cleaning supplies are stored in a safe, secure area always.
• Complete standardized cleaning processes per company and government contract standards.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.
• Attend regular staff meetings and required in service training sessions.
• Follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
• Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having limited opportunity to exercise discretion.
• Cut grass using walking-type or riding mowers (less than 2000 lbs).
• Trim hedges and edge around walkways, flower beds, and wells using hedge trimmers, clippers, and edging tools.
• Prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth using shears and other hand tools.
• Apply fertilizer or insecticide to lawns, shrubs, and trees as directed.
• Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs as part of seasonal or routine landscaping.
• Water lawns and shrubs during dry periods using hoses or sprinkler systems.
• Pick up and dispose of leaves, paper, or other litter to maintain clean outdoor areas.
• Clean comfort stations, office areas, workshop spaces, and parking lots by sweeping, washing, mopping, and polishing as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Certification

• High School Diploma or equivalent required with 2 years of job-related experience.

Working Conditions

• Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and moving furniture.
• Ability to follow basic work routines.
• Ability to communicate.
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
• Ability to efficiently complete assigned tasks within designated timeframes.

The minimum pay rate for this position is $17.00. This position may also be eligible for a wide range of competitive benefits that can include but not limited to: medical, well-being, financial planning and short-term incentives benefits.
