Custodians are essential to the daily success of the university, supporting teaching, learning, research, and events by ensuring that campus spaces are cared for with pride and professionalism. We are currently hiring for 3rd shift roles, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact on campus during overnight hours.
The Custodian position performs a variety of custodial tasks necessary for the routine cleaning and maintenance of university buildings. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas; emptying trash and recycling containers; and moving furniture and equipment to support cleaning needs and campus activities. Custodians also play an important role in observing and reporting maintenance or safety concerns to help maintain high standards across campus.
This role requires moderately heavy physical effort, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving furniture, equipment, and supplies. Occasional overtime may be required to assist with snow removal or emergency cleanup. Work is performed under the guidance of a Custodial Services Supervisor and in collaboration with a supportive team committed to service excellence.

The Division of Facilities Planning & Management (FP&M) is a full-spectrum service organization that builds, maintains, and operates the physical environment of UW-Madison in the university's education, research, and outreach activities. We are responsible for everything from the building projects that change the face of campus to the flowers that beautify the grounds.

$17.00 per hour
Current UW-Madison employees may be eligible to be hired up to their current rate of compensation, based on qualifications.
