Job summary

CHIMES in Washington, DC is seeking a custodian to perform cleaning and building services across public and work spaces, including executive areas. The role involves following contract specs, maintaining hygiene, and handling restrooms, floors, and communal areas.

The ideal candidate has at least a High School diploma (preferred) and some custodial experience. This position is part of the AbilityOne Program and offers comprehensive benefits and job stability.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months of custodial work experience preferred.
• Custodial training desired.
• Candidates with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow contract specifications and agency policies.
• Maintain uniform dress code and personal hygiene standards.
• Clean all assigned areas per contract specifications.
• Disinfect restrooms and public surfaces.
• Descale showers, toilets, and urinals.
• Keep restrooms stocked with paper products and soap.
• Perform routine glass and mirror cleaning.
• Vacuum rugs and carpets; sweep and mop floors.
• Empty and clean public ashtrays and urns.
• Move, arrange, and lift heavy items.
• Attend required meetings and training.
• Comply with building, security, and company policies.
