Job summary

Children's Rescue Fund in New York, NY is seeking a Custodian/Driver (Ellington) for a full-time role at our Hope House location in Bronx. The position involves cleaning, maintenance, and transporting staff or clients between sites as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, custodial experience, and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Lifting up to 75 pounds is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least six months of custodial experience is required.
• Must have a valid Driver’s license and be able to obtain a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds.
• Familiarity with custodial equipment and processes is required.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sweep, and mop offices, bathrooms, kitchens, program delivery areas, and common areas daily.
• Unload and store deliveries in storage area and move furniture as needed.
• Remove garbage daily and place at curb for pickup by sanitation department.
• Clean and mop floors; prepare floors for stripping and waxing when required.
• Assist staff in moving furniture in offices and residential areas.
• Clear sidewalks and entrances of snow and maintain safe walking paths.
• Report routine observations affecting safety to supervisory staff.
• Drive staff and/or clients to site locations when necessary.
• May drive to different site locations to perform cleaning duties.

Skills

Valid Driver's license

Ability to lift 75 pounds

Experience in custodial services

Familiarity with custodial equipment
