Children’s Rescue Fund in New York, NY is seeking a Driver (Apollo) to perform cleaning and maintenance duties across our facilities. This full-time role requires a reliable team player who can operate cleaning equipment and assist in transporting staff and clients to site locations.

The position requires at least a high school diploma, six months custodial experience, familiarity with cleaning equipment, the ability to lift up to 75 pounds, and a valid NYC driver’s license.

Responsabilités

• Sweep and clean office and program delivery areas.

• Clean and mop floors; prepare floors for stripping and waxing as required.
• Assist staff in moving furniture in offices and residential areas.

• Report routine observations related to safety and operations to supervisors.
• May serve on-call for a one-week period each quarter.
• Drive staff members and/or clients to site locations when necessary.
• Travel to different site locations to perform daily cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Participate in staff meetings and policy development as needed.

PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE:

Maintain a clean and healthy environment for clients, staff, and volunteers by performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESincluding the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Sweep and clean office and program delivery areas.
• Repair and maintain physical plant and perform minor repairs
• Assist in unloading and storage of deliveries.
• Remove garbage from program and office areas.
• Clean and mop floors. Prepare floors for stripping and waxing as required.
• Assist staff in moving furniture in offices and residential areas.
• Clears sidewalks and entrances of snow and maintains.
• Clean, repair and store paint brushes, rollers, ladders and other equipment; and prepare and apply paints and finish to interior and exterior surfaces when required.
• Report routine observations of residential and public areas to supervisory staff including conditions which that might affect the safety and security of clients or staff or the orderly operation of the facility.
• Perform other duties and special projects as required including serving on-call for a one-week period each quarter.
• Must be able to obtain a clean Driver’s Abstract
• Will be responsible for driving staff members and/or clients to site locations when necessary and/or if time permits.
• Will be required to drive to different site locations to perform daily cleaning and maintenance duties.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Facilitate effective communication with other staff within an interdisciplinary context; participate in and contribute to staff meetings and the development of policies and procedures.
• Participate in training and staff-development activities to acquire and maintain both interpersonal and operational skills necessary for successful job performance.

PRINCIPAL RELATIONSHIPS:

• Frequent contact with staff within Department, and regular contact with internal and external callers to assure a high degree of customer service is provided.
• Collaborative, sensitive, and respectful relationships with volunteers and clients.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months of experience providing custodial services in a business or social service environment.
• Familiarity with equipment and processes associated with custodial work.
• Other Requirements (including Physical Demands): Ability to lift 75 pounds.
• Must have a valid NYC Driver’s License.
