Job summary

Childrens Rescue Fund in New York, NY is seeking a dedicated Custodian (Apollo) to maintain a clean and healthy environment for clients, staff, and volunteers. This full-time on-site position involves daily cleaning, basic repairs, and responding to maintenance requests to ensure a safe facility.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least six months of custodial experience. Candidates must be capable of lifting up to 75 pounds and be willing to be on-call for emergencies

Qualifications

Six months of experience providing maintenance/custodial services in a business or social service environment.
Basic familiarity with custodial equipment and cleaning agents.
Ability to follow safety procedures and instructions.

Responsibilities

Cleans offices, bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas daily.
Repairs and cleans rooms for new clients; ensures rooms are furnished and stocked.
Completes repairs and submits work orders to the Operations Manager after completion.
Unloads deliveries and moves furniture and equipment as needed.
Removes garbage daily and prepares it for curbside pickup.
Cleans and mops floors; prepares floors for stripping and waxing as required.
Performs minor plumbing, electrical, plastering and painting duties.
Clears sidewalks and entrances of snow; spreads salt/ice melt for safe access.
Maintains tools and equipment in working order.
Reports safety observations to Operations Manager and Program Director.
On-call for maintenance emergencies on a rotating basis.
