Job summary

Littleton Public Schools is seeking a substitute custodial worker to clean interior offices, hallways, bathrooms, and common areas across district buildings. The role includes moving furniture for events and providing coverage as needed.

Hours are typically 3:00 pm–11:30 pm with flexibility; this is a temporary, as-needed position not offering health insurance or retirement benefits. Salary is $19.41 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, walls, windows and other areas using vacuuming, mopping, waxing, buffing, stripping.
• Set up/take down for meetings and events by moving furniture and arranging rooms.
• Monitor assigned areas and pick up and dispose of trash.
• Dust fixtures and clean bathrooms (toilets, sinks, mirrors, etc.).
• Maintain regular attendance and follow district procedures.
• Follow Board of Education policies and department rules; adapt to schedule changes.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for cleaning interior offices, hallways, bathrooms, and common areas and moving furniture to set-up/take-down for special events. This position will fill in where needed at multiple buildings throughout the District.

DUTIES:

• Clean assigned areas by vacuuming, mopping, waxing, buffing, and stripping floors and cleaning walls, windows, and other common areas.
• Perform meeting set-ups and take-down by moving furniture, setting up chairs, preparing rooms, etc.
• Monitor assigned area by walking halls and grounds. Pick up and dispose oftrash.
• Dust fixtures in assigned area.
• Clean bathrooms in assigned area by mopping floors; cleaning toilets; and wiping walls, mirrors, and sinks.
• Maintains consistent, regular attendance at work; arrives and leaves work at scheduled times; respects time limits on breaks and lunch periods; and follows district procedures for absence reporting.
• Recognizes opportunities for improvement and/or implements improved methods within the limits of authority; adapts to changes in responsibilities and work schedule with a positive attitude.
• Promotes and follows Board of Education policies, building or department procedures, and any other rules and regulations as may be established by central building, or department administration.

EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Criminal background check required for hire

Hours: Typically 3 pm to 11:30 pm. Flexible hours available if needed. Can switch to daytime hours during the summer.

This position is a substitute custodial role intended to provide coverage on an as-needed basis. Individuals in this role will be called upon to fill in during staff absences, peak workload periods, or other situations requiring additional custodial support.

This position is classified as a temporary/as-needed role and is not eligible for employee benefits. Individuals in this position will not receive benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, retirement contributions, or other benefit programs typically offered to regular full-time or part-time employees.

Employment screening include a charge to the applicant of $39.50 for fingerprinting and background check.

SALARY: $19.41per hour

WORK YEAR: 260 No Holiday contract days ( Custodial Calendar )
