Mapleton Public Schools is seeking an On-Call Custodian to maintain cleanliness, safety, and basic building upkeep across district facilities.
This substitute/on-call role has no guaranteed hours, with work typically unavailable during school breaks; reports to the Director of Operations. The position requires a high school diploma and basic custodial skills, with a focus on reliability and safety.

Position: On-Call Custodian (As Needed Basis)

Pay Range: CD-1 Range, $20.49 per hour
Hours: No guaranteed minimum hours; work typically unavailable during summer, spring break, and school holidays. Substitute/On-Call basis only.

Responsible for the cleanliness, sanitation, security, and basic maintenance of the assigned school building, grounds, and equipment. Ensure a safe and pleasant learning environment for students, staff, and the public. Promote safety, health, and comfort of students and staff in District facilities.
High School Diploma or equivalent
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate, compare, and evaluate. The employee is frequently required to analyze, compute, synthesize, use interpersonal skills, and compile. The employee is occasionally required to copy, coordinate, instruct, and negotiate.
