Job summary

Davenport Community School District is seeking a Custodian to join our facilities team. The successful candidate will perform cleaning, maintenance, and grounds keeping tasks as described in the duties. Day shift during summer is required, with an entry level rate of $18.17/hr.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED and the ability to lift up to 56 lb, climb an 8-ft ladder, and work in a team. Davenport Community Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Responsibilities

• Dusts horizontal surfaces, clocks, overhead screens, and blinds.
• Wet mopping of floors, spot cleaning of carpets and hard flooring.
• Assists with deep cleaning during break periods—stripping, scrub & recoat, carpet extraction, cleaning restrooms, glass, and furniture.
• Trash removal.
• Removes snow.
• Minor grounds keeping.
• Lawn mowing.
• Assists with delivery of supplies.
• Properly maintains equipment.
• Reports maintenance issues to Head and Lead custodians.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Must work days during summer.

New Hire: Entry Level Rate $18.17/hr. Current employees with seniority in the bargaining unit, please refer to the Salary Schedule established by the bargaining unit.

Physical Requirements of Position: (HBV X Yes No)

Ability to lift & carry up to 56 lb.

Ability to climb up to an 8-ft ladder and perform custodial task ie; cleaning light fixture.

Ability to climb steps and work on uneven ground

In addition to these specific qualifications this person must meet all the general qualifications as listed in the custodian job description of the Davenport Community School District.
