Job summary

Davenport Community Schools Sudlow Middle School in Davenport, Iowa is seeking a part-time Custodian - 4 hrs/day, 7:45 pm to 11:45 pm, with occasional day shifts during breaks.

Responsibilities include vacuuming stairs, cleaning glass, dust mopping hallways, assisting with deep cleaning, snow removal, and reporting maintenance issues to the Head Custodian. Must have HS diploma or GED; entry wage is $18.17/hr. Equal Opportunity Employer.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum ALL stairs and pick up litter.
• Sanitize hand rails and clean glass surfaces.
• Wet mop as needed and dust mop hallways.
• Assist with deep cleaning during break periods (stripping, scrub & recoat, restrooms, glass, furniture).
• Remove snow and perform minor grounds keeping tasks including lawn mowing.
• Assist with delivery of supplies and properly maintain equipment.
• Report maintenance issues to Head & Lead Custodian and perform other duties as assigned.

New Hire: Entry Level Rate $18.17/hr. Current employees with seniority in the bargaining unit, please refer to the Salary Schedule established by the bargaining unit.

Duties & Responsibilities: (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)

• Utility/stairs

Physical Requirements of Position: (HBV X Yes No)

Ability to lift & carry up to 56 lb.

Ability to climb up to an 8-ft ladder and perform custodial task ie; cleaning light fixture.

Ability to climb steps and work on uneven ground

Ability to understand and follow oral instructions.
