Job summary

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop and vacuum hallways, stairs, classrooms, gyms and office spaces.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms including toilets, sinks, fixtures, tile, mirrors and floors.
• Wash windows and clean window sills as needed.
• Scrub, strip and wax floors as scheduled.
• Empty classroom and office trash containers at least daily.
• Keep school grounds free from litter.
• Sweep exterior walkways and school entrances.
• Maintain school building, performing minor maintenance work as needed such as painting, changing lightbulbs, repairing furniture, loading/unloading equipment and supplies, etc.
• Assume responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each day and ensuring all doors and windows are secure.
• Complete all summer work requirements.
• Clean, maintain and properly store all tools, supplies and equipment.
• Notify principal of damage to school property or maintenance needs.
• Move furniture or other equipment for school meetings or events.
• Cover for food service staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
