Job summary

Hunter Engineering Company in Durant, MS is hiring a Custodian for the 1st shift (6am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday). The starting rate is $16.00 per hour with opportunities for advancement.

You will support cleaning of break areas, bathrooms, and other areas per the daily schedule. Must have a high school diploma or GED and 3 months related experience; reading and following simple instructions; willingness to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Observe and follow all safety rules.
• Work overtime or weekends as scheduled.
• Use cleaning supplies and equipment to maintain cleanliness.
• May operate a blower to clear leaves and debris.
• May operate equipment to fumigate to clear air particles.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Interact well with personnel across the facility.
• Handle other assignments as directed by supervisor.

Hunter offers $16.00 as the starting rate with opportunities for advancement in level and pay. This position is for our 1st shift (6am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday)

As a Custodian, you will support the cleaning of break areas, bathrooms, and other areas in the daily cleaning schedule.

What You’ll Do:

• Observes and follows all safety rules
• Must be willing and able to work overtime as an extension to a normal workday or on weekends, as scheduled
• Use of cleaning supplies and equipment to support facility cleanliness
• May operate a blower to clear leaves and debris from outside break areas
• May operate a machine to administer fuming to clear air particles
• Maintain work area to sustain a clean and orderly environment
• Ability to interact well with personnel throughout the facility
• Other assignments as deemed appropriate by the supervisor.

What You’ll Bring:

• High school diploma or GED is required and 3 months of related experience and/or training
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
