The mission of Specialized Treatment Facility (STF) is to promote and strengthen the mental health and the education of up to 48 adolescent males and females who are experiencing behavioral difficulties in their homes, schools, and communities. Employees are charged with the responsibility of furthering STF’s mission by exhibiting the core values that are at its heart: Teamwork, Respect, Compassion, Integrity, and Safety.Specialized Treatment Facility employs milieu therapy as the foundation for the treatment of its residents. Milieu therapy is a planned treatment environment in which everyday events and interactions are therapeutically designed for the purpose of enhancing social skills and building confidence. This therapy uses common structures familiar to all children, such as daily routines, consistent rules and activities.The Custodian reports directly to the Dietary/Housekeeping Director. Custodians are accountable for cleaning office areas or resident areas. These positions work under general direction and follows set instructions and directions as part of a cleaning crew, and independently at times. This position operates a variety of power cleaning equipment. Custodians are responsible for maintaining an inventory of supplies and tools and notifying the supervisor of resupply needs.Responsibilities and DutiesCustodians perform housekeeping duties throughout the program by cleaning all Pods: kitchens, dining rooms and day rooms. Custodians clean the gym, education building, all front and back entrances. They follow all health codes and sanitation procedures as directed. Custodians are required to successfully operate the following machines: carpet machine, and high and low speed buffers. Custodians monitor and maintain cleaning supplies throughout the facility. They remove trash and unneeded items throughout the facility, as well as provide disinfecting treatments if required throughout the facility in support of infectious disease. Custodians complete facility training programs through active testing and study courses. All STF employees are responsible for reading, understanding, and adhering to all policies, protocols, and memorandums. Maintains a certification in Mandt as required by STF. All STF employees are responsible for reading, understanding, and adhering to all policies, protocols, and memorandums. Universal Precautions and Infection Control policies must be adhered by all STF employees. Universal precautions were designed for doctors, nurses, patients, and healthcare workers who came into contact with patients and their bodily fluids. Housekeeping staff must abide by standard precautions which applies to the clean-up in working areas there is a risk of potential exposure to (1) blood; (2) all body fluids, secretions, and excretions, except sweat, regardless of whether or not they contain visible blood. This includes hand hygiene and personal protective equipment (PPE), with hand hygiene being the single most important means to prevent transmission of disease. Personal protective equipment serves as a barrier to protect the skin, mucous membranes, airway, and clothing. It includes gowns, gloves, masks, and face shields or goggles.

What you'll need to be Successful

Team work ethic, accountability, reliability, communication skills, cleaning skills, Knowledge of how to perform all duties related to cleaning and maintaining a state program concerning proper health and sanitation practices. Knowledge of maintaining a sufficient and properly maintained inventory of supplies and equipment. Ability and awareness to keeping equipment and supplies locked and secured at all times. Ability to identify and familiarize one’s self with cleaning products, equipment, and sanitation practices needed to perform duties in regard to policies and procedures. Ability to provides instructional training to staff involving cleaning products and practices. Skilled in Sanitization Protocols, Waste Management, Floor Care, Equipment Operation, Safety Compliance, Space Organization, Chemical Use, and Inventory Management. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to strip and wax floors. Custodians must have the ability to identity and use the proper cleaning chemicals and be able to instruct staff that work in the Pods on proper cleaning procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

Requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency and 0-1 year of work experience.
