Job Overview

Title: Custodian

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule.
• Perform hazardous waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping, receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self.
• Work with others in a team.
• Perform repetitive tasks.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision.
• Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co‑workers, managers, and customers.
• Fill in during staff shortages.
• Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
• Use proper personal protective equipment.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.
• Understand reporting systems and environmental impact.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: No specific education required; 3‑6 months training or experience preferred, or an equivalent combination.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver’s license may be required. Completion of safety and task training certification. Forklift certification may be required.

Skills:

• Bilingual a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share with team.
• Knowledge of upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Compensation and Shift

Shift: Sun‑Wed 6:00 pm–4:30 am, Sun‑Wed 8:00 pm–6:30 am, Thurs‑Sun 6:00 pm–4:30 am, Thurs‑Sun 8:00 pm–6:30 am.

Pay: $15.00–$16.00 per hour.
