Job Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Perform hazardous waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Address risk behavior of self and others
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Maintain a clean work area
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co‑workers, managers, and customers
• Fill in during staff shortages
• Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction
• Understand reporting systems and environmental requirements
• Perform repetitive tasks as needed
• Perform janitorial duties

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: No specific education requirement; 3‑6 months training or experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certifications: Valid driver’s license; completion of all required safety and task training certifications; forklift certification may be required.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Bilingual a plus; ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents; strong verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and chemicals and their safe and efficient use; willingness to share knowledge with team.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Regular lifting and/or moving of up to 35 pounds. The role requires frequent sitting, talking, and listening. Reasonable accommodations are available for qualified individuals with disabilities.

Compensation & Shift

Monday‑Friday, 4:00 PM – 10:30 PM. Pay range: $16.50 – $17.50 per hour.
