Job Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule.
• Perform hazardous waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping, receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self.
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees.
• Maintain clean work area.
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision.
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
• Fill in during staff shortage.
• Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
• Use proper personal protective equipment.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: No specific education requirement, 3‑6 months training/experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: May be required to have a valid driver’s license. Completed all safety and task training certifications. May be required to be forklift certified.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bilingual a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share with team.
  • Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
  • Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Must lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
• Frequent sitting, talking, or listening.

Compensation & Shift

Monday to Friday and alternate Saturdays, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM. $15.50–$16.50 per hour.
