Job summary

The DM Burr Group is hiring a Full Time Custodian for the 2nd shift at Camden County Schools in Camden, NC. The role runs Monday through Friday, 3:00pm to 11:30pm, with a wage of $16.50 per hour.

Responsibilities include cleaning, operating floor machines, stocking restrooms, and documenting activities; training provided. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, disability, life insurance, 401(k), paid vacation and holidays, and a stable schedule.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED or technical certification.
• Must be self-motivated with minimal supervision.
• 0–6 months custodial/janitorial experience using floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Requires the ability to read and follow label instructions on cleaning supplies.
• Ability to follow basic verbal & written instructions.
• Attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing/buffing machines.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• May remove stains from rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using cleaners.
• General cleaning of furniture, window sills, walls.
• Dust, wash walls, clean ceilings, and polish light fixtures.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas.
• Clean/stock all restrooms, janitorial closet and break rooms.
• Record and document cleaning functions on logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
• Report major safety items for repair.
• Other duties as assigned.
