Job summary

The DM Burr Group is hiring a Part Time Custodian for the 2nd shift at Camden County Schools in Camden, NC. Wage is $16.25/hour with a $200 New Hire Bonus after 90 days and DailyPay available.

Schedule: Monday–Friday 5:00pm–9:00pm. Benefits include 401(k), paid vacation, consistent schedules, and company training.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED or technical school certification.
• Must be self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision.
• 0–6 months custodial/janitorial experience preferred (floor scrubbers, buffers).
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Able to read and follow label instructions on cleaning supplies.
• Able to follow basic verbal and written instructions.
• Attention to detail; team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Use approved cleaning methods and materials for assigned facilities.
• Operate and maintain equipment (floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines, vacuums).
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors with equipment.
• Empty trash; clean restrooms and janitorial closets.
• Move furniture to access areas and clean accordingly.
• Record cleaning functions on logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance as needed and report safety items.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as; auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• General cleaning furniture, window sills, and walls.
• Dust, wash walls, clean ceilings, and polish light fixtures.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas.
• Clean/stock all restroom, janitorial closet and break rooms.
• Record and document all cleaning functions on appropriate logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
• Report any major safety item for repair.
• Other duties as assigned.
