Job summary

UCP of Central Florida is seeking a dedicated Custodian to keep our campuses clean, safe, and welcoming inside classrooms, offices, restrooms, kitchens, and outdoor spaces in Kissimmee.

You will perform daily and weekly custodial tasks, handle cleaning chemicals safely, perform routine maintenance, report hazards to the Facility Maintenance Coordinator, and support a team delivering services across six campuses.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of custodial/maintenance experience.
• Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily custodial tasks in classrooms, offices, restrooms, kitchens and common areas.
• Clean waste receptacles, vacuum, sweep and mop floors, and polish surfaces.
• Operate and store cleaning tools safely; report malfunctions to supervisor.
• Assist with minor maintenance like painting touch-ups and bulb changes.

UCP of Central Florida unlocks the potential of thousands of children each year at our campuses, pediatric therapy clinics and parent support programs.Job Summary:Custodians have knowledge, skills and abilities in keeping the schools clean and safe working both inside the building and outside doing varies tasks that keep the schools clean, sanitary, looking nice and to operate smoothly.Job Responsibilities:Perform daily custodial tasks in the classrooms, offices, restrooms, kitchens and common areas. This includes emptying and cleaning waste receptacles, vacuuming carpets, sweeping and mopping floors, polishing elevator doors, cleaning elevator walls.Perform weekly custodial tasks, including vacuuming sofas and chairs, and cleaning and dusting telephone hand-sets, desks, cubicles, computer monitors, window ledges, vents, fans and walls.Handle and use cleaning chemicals and cleaners safely, productively and according to instructions to ensure personal, client, community and staff safety.Conduct routine maintenance on facility custodial and maintenance equipment, including cleaning mops, changing vacuum cleaner bags, and cleaning and properly storing tools and equipment.Perform routine maintenance, such as with touch-up painting, minor plumbing repairs, minor carpentry work, changing light-bulbs, and minor electrical work.Report equipment malfunctions, hazardous situations and facility maintenance needs to the Facility Maintenance Coordinator.Performs other related duties as required and assigned.What UCP OffersOur mission at UCP is to empower children with and without disabilities to achieve their potential by providing individualized support, education and therapy services in an inclusive environment.
