Job summary

United Service Companies in Cicero, IL seeks a Seasonal Custodian to help maintain clean facilities. You will sweep and mop floors, empty trash, service restrooms, polish fixtures, and perform floor care with appropriate equipment.

This role requires physical stamina: ability to walk long distances and stand for extended periods, lift 30–50 pounds, and work independently or with a partner. Reasonable accommodations available under ADA.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
• Mix water and chemicals in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
• Steam-clean or shampoo and extract carpets.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
• Drive or operate powered equipment including ride on scrubbers or industrial ride on vacuum cleaners.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
