Job summary

United Service Companies is seeking a Full Time Service Worker in Chicago, IL to join our hospitality team. The role involves setting up breakfast stations, restocking, food prep, and ensuring a clean, safe breakfast area for guests.

You will interact with guests, uphold safety and cleanliness standards, monitor time and temperature, and support managers with daily duties. A high school diploma and basic food safety awareness are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; food safety training is a plus.
  • Previous food service or waitering experience is a plus.
  • Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
  • Prepare the breakfast buffet for morning service.
  • Restock, clean, and maintain breakfast area during service hours.
  • Prep food and supplies for the next day's breakfast service.
  • Break down the buffet after service hours.
  • Clean and sanitize the kitchen/breakfast area at the end of service.
  • Notify Manager of low inventory items.
  • Check the quality of final servings and resolve issues.
  • Provide guests information of local and hotel amenities.
  • Guarantee facility compliance with safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Provide safe food handling and prevent forms of contamination.
  • Monitor time and temperature.
  • Maintain a gracious manner with all guests and uphold a high level of service.
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance guidelines.
  • Report to the Manager on time for scheduled shift and obtain Manager's approval prior to shift end.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager.
