Job summary

SA Recycling is seeking an experienced Custodian in Brownsville, TX to clean and maintain offices, breakrooms, restrooms, and common facilities. You will work across two yard sites with light travel, following company standards and safety guidelines in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• 1 year of custodial experience preferred.
• Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
• Able to follow written or verbal instructions.
• Willing to learn new tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain offices, breakrooms, restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, restock supplies and monitor cleanliness.
• Identify repairs and report to the General Manager.
• Assist with basic maintenance (HVAC filters, lighting, ceiling tiles).
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and keep areas organized.

SA Recycling is looking for a experienced, cheerful, and dependable Custodian who takes pride in their work. As a Custodian you will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining our offices, breakrooms, restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas as set forth by company standards. In performing these duties, you may be exposed to outdoor elements in all seasons.

The work for this position will be split to two different yard. Light traveling required.

Responsibilities of a Custodian

• Maintain internal and external facility conditions as set forth by company standards and procedures.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, and restock common areas, offices, breakrooms, restrooms, and locker rooms.
• Identify needed repairs to facilities and properties and bring to the attention of the General Manager.
• Perform general maintenance functions such as replacing HVAC filters, changing light bulbs, and replacing damaged ceiling tiles, etc.
• Maintain adequate inventory of all cleaning supplies and materials.
• Continuously monitor and address all common areas, offices, breakrooms, restrooms, and locker rooms for cleanliness.
• Keep supply closets and storage areas neat and orderly.
• Regular and punctual attendance are essential job functions.

Qualifications of a Custodian

• High School diploma, GED Certification, or equivalent work experience.
• 1-year previous custodial experience.
• Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
• Ability to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
• Ability to learn new tasks as assigned required.
