Job summary

SA Recycling is seeking an energetic Cashier to perform payment processing, documentation, and basic office duties in our yard. The role emphasizes timely, friendly, and accurate service to both individual and commercial customers.

The position may require outdoor work in varying weather. Hours are 7:00am to 3:30/4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with Saturday half-days. SA Recycling offers competitive pay, safety bonuses, benefits, 401k with company match, weekly pay, and uniforms/PPE.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Must pass a medical physical and drug test.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must pass a credit check.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment while providing excellent customer service and the ability to handle multiple projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and time management skills.
• Mathematical and problem-solving skills.
• Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn industry specific software.
• Bilingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process payments and complete paperwork for purchased scrap metal.
• Balance cash drawer and generate invoices, itemize lists and tickets.
• Assist customers with pricing questions and materials accepted.
• Provide relief/backup duties for Office Assistant and Weighmaster.
• Assist with monthly closing reporting and inventory reconciliation as needed.

Job description

SA Recycling is looking for an energetic and highly organized individual to join our team as a Cashier. The Cashier plays an important customer service role within the yard by providing timely, friendly, accurate and safe services to our customers. The Cashier is responsible for processing payments and completing the required paperwork for our individual as well as commercial customers. The Cashier will also perform basic office duties as needed.

This position may require you to work intermittently outside in varying weather conditions, and SA Recycling strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
The working hours for this position are from 7:00am to 3:30/4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Saturday until 12:30pm

Responsibilities of a Cashier:

• Complete all required records and documentation for payment of purchased scrap metal into the proper systems.
• Calculate daily transactions using computerized programs and balance cash drawer at the end of the day.
• Generate invoices, itemize lists and tickets noting materials and amounts due, verify weights, prices, and extensions.
• Assist current and potential customers with questions regarding the pricing of materials, the types of materials accepted, and maintenance of customer accounts.
• Provide relief and/or backup duties for the Office Assistant and Weighmaster.
• Assists with monthly closing reporting, and with inventory reconciliation as needed.
