Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a part-time Custodian to join our team at Martin Luther Care Center in Bloomington, MN. This position involves deep cleaning of carpeted surfaces and floor maintenance including stripping, waxing, and burnishing.

The ideal candidate should be able to work independently as well as part of a team. A background in cleaning or custodial work is preferred. We offer competitive benefits including medical, dental, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Experience in custodial and/or cleaning work preferred.
• One year previous experience in a similar environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deep cleaning of carpeted surfaces, stripping, waxing, and burnishing of hard floor surfaces.
• Perform general cleaning duties, such as carpet sweeping and mopping.
• Assist housekeeping and laundry staff as needed.
• Empty and remove trash and recycling.

Skills

Ability to work independently

Ability to work as part of a team

Ability to read safety instructions and information on chemicals

Experience with mechanical equipment

Education

Job Overview

Ebenezer is looking for a Custodian, who would be responsible for deep cleaning of carpeted surfaces, stripping, waxing and burnishing of hard floor surfaces. This position may also perform general cleaning duties, all within our senior living and skilled nursing community in Bloomington, MN.

This position includes

• 32 hours in 2 weeks, part-time schedule, 8 hour shift length
• Day shift
• Every weekend

Martin Luther Care Center, part of the Martin Luther Senior Living Campus located in East Bloomington, near woodlands/wetlands and along the Minnesota River Bluffs. • Carpet sweeping, floor sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing
• Carpet extraction
• Stripping, waxing, and burnishing of hard floor surfaces
• Assists housekeeping and laundry staff as needed
• Assists with moving boxes, furniture, etc.
• Empties and removes trash and recycling
• Performs other duties assigned

Required Experience/Skills

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Able to read/understand instructions for safety sheets and information on chemicals, infection control practices and body mechanics.
• Ability to perform relevant floor care procedures
• Experience with mechanical equipment

Preferred Experience/Skills

• One year previous experience in a similar environment preferred
• Experience in floor care, custodial and/or cleaning work preferred
• High school diploma/GED preferred
