Job summary

Ebenezer is seeking a Custodian to perform deep cleaning of carpeted surfaces, striping, waxing, and burnishing of hard floors in our Bloomington, MN senior living and skilled nursing community. The role may include general cleaning duties and collaboration with the existing team.

The position operates on an evening shift with 80 hours every two weeks, and no weekend work. We value a capable, safety-conscious individual who can work independently or with others in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Able to read/understand safety sheets and chemical information.
• Ability to perform floor care procedures.
• Experience with mechanical cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carpet sweeping, floor sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
• Carpet extraction.
• Stripping, waxing, and burnishing of hard floors.
• Assists housekeeping and laundry staff as needed.
• Assists with moving boxes, furniture, etc.
• Empties and removes trash and recycling.
• Performs other duties assigned.

Job Overview

Ebenezer is looking for a Custodian, whom would be responsible for deep cleaning of carpeted surfaces, stripping, waxing and burnishing of hard floor surfaces. This position may also perform general cleaning duties, all within our senior living and skilled nursing community in Bloomington, MN.

Position Details

• 80 hours per 2 weeks
• Evening shift
• No weekends

Martin Luther Care Center, part of the Martin Luther Senior Living Campus is located in East Bloomington, near woodlands/wetlands and along the Minnesota River Bluffs. Managed by Ebenezer, we offer 137 units between our Skilled Nursing, Memory Care and Transitional Care. We have an outstanding team of tenured staff. The only thing missing is YOU! Key Responsibilities

• Carpet sweeping, floor sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing

Required Experience/Skills

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Able to read/understand instructions for safety sheets and information on chemicals, infection control practices and body mechanics.
• Ability to perform relevant floor care procedures
• Experience with mechanical equipment

Preferred Experience/Skills

• One year previous experience in a similar environment preferred

Experience In Floor Care, Custodial And/or Cleaning Work Preferred

• High school diploma/GED preferred
