Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate development and implementation of quality assurance SOPs for each campus building.
  • Organize onboarding and training programs for new hires per procedures and protocols.
  • Train supervisors and leads to coach staff in safe maintenance methods and SOPs for uniform campus standards.
  • Schedule regular custodial training events and ensure LMS course completion.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and SDS standards for chemical usage and safety.
  • Document inspection results and report corrective actions; generate regular reports.
  • Audit staff quality and provide hands-on coaching, shadowing, and team-building as needed.

Job description

Title: Custodial Training & Compliance Coordinator
Position Purpose:

In collaboration with the Custodial Services Manager and CustodialSupervisors, this position is responsible for planning, developing,coordinating, delivering, and monitoring custodial servicestraining, while ensuring compliance with federal and statestandards, laws, and regulations. With guidance from FacilityServices leadership, develops and implements training programs forcleaning operations based on current industry standards. Conductsand documents field audits to ensure consistency and compliancewith cleaning operations and elevates the overall quality of campusfacilities.

Job Duties:
  • Coordinating with the Custodial Services Manager, develop andimplement quality assurance and Standard of Operation Procedures(SOP) and protocols for each building on campus. Perform routinebuilding cleanliness inspections and quality assurance fieldaudits.
  • Organize the training and onboarding of new department hires bydeveloping, implementing, and updating an onboarding and newemployee training program in accordance with established proceduresand protocols.
  • Work with Custodial Supervisors and Leads to train their directreports in safe and effective maintenance and repair methods, usingestablished best practices and Standard of Operation Procedures(SOP) to ensure uniformity throughout the campus.
  • Coordinate and schedule regular custodial training events.Ensure completion of assigned LMS training courses.
  • Ensure compliance with established regulatory standardsconcerning the safe use and application of chemical supplies,including but not limited to, Occupational Safety and HealthAdministration (OSHA) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Document inspection results in a database format and recommendcorrective action where non-compliance or deficiencies are found.Produce regular reporting based on inspection results.
  • Audit staff to ensure quality standards are being achieved andprovide additional training such as weekly hands-on coaching,shadowing, one-on-one sessions, and team-building when needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience
  • Minimum of three years experience in custodialmaintenance.
  • Custodial training experience desired.
  • Experience in training and building professional developmentprograms preferred.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Commitment to equity and inclusion, and serving the needs of aculturally and educationally diverse community.
  • Working knowledge of custodial operations including, but notlimited to, chemical usage and safety.
  • Ability to share and implement best practices for cleaningoperations, and hold staff accountable to departmentstandards.
  • Review and assess work being performed with the goal ofdeveloping methods for improving efficiency and quality ofwork.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences,orally and in writing, including electronic media.
  • Experience leveraging technology for organization andreporting.

Hiring Range:

The hiring range for this position is $23.00to $26.00. Placement within the range depends on experience andother factors.
