Title: Assistant Board Plan Manager
Position Purpose:

The Assistant Board Plan Manager position is responsible foroverseeing meals in Commons, ensuring that departmental/collegestandards are maintained as outlined in the Dining ServicesProfessional Guide, college handbook, sector specificexpectations/policies, 2014 Food Code, and Maine State and federalliquor regulations.

Job Duties:
  • Direct and oversee all service and sanitation components duringdaily meal periods, acting as the primary managerial presence onthe dining floor.
  • Manage shift dynamics, including completing position and breakassignments, ensuring optimal staffing levels, and securingreplacements to maintain seamless service flow.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs), HACCP guidelines, and the Maine Food Code 2014 standards.Conduct regular quality assurance checks, including accuratetemperature logging and injury reporting (within 24 hours).
  • Conduct Out Front quality assurance checks. Guarantee accuracyand professionalism in the presentation of food, including thecorrectness of all signage and menu cards and appropriate foodlabeling.
  • Conduct service and sanitation huddles and assist in theimplementation of departmental procedures and staff trainingmodules.
  • Maintain the highest level of proactive customer service. Serveas the first-level manager to address and resolve conflicts thatarise on the floor.
  • Champion exceptional customer service, consistently aiming forthe highest standards in every interaction.
  • Actively cultivate a positive, inclusive workplace bypracticing open, two-way communication and demonstrating a deeprespect for all forms of diversity.
  • Forge robust collaborative partnerships with colleagues acrossthe entire Dining department and the broader universitycommunity.
  • Be a flexible, supportive team member, readily assisting inother operational areas and executing all assigned duties withprofessionalism.
  • Ensure adherence to sound environmental practices, includingcomposting, recycling, and waste reduction.
  • Maintain a high level of safety awareness and ensure allinjuries are reported within 24 hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
  • High School diploma required
  • Serve Safe certification desired
  • A valid Maine driver’s license required
Experience
  • Minimum of four years’ food service experience.
  • Previous experience in a collegiate food service environmentdesired.
  • Previous supervisory experience desired.
Skills and Knowledge

Hiring Range:

The hiring range for this position is $21.60 -$24.10. Placement within the range depends on experience and otherfactors.
