Job summary

The DM Burr Group is hiring a Full Time Custodial Floater for 1st and 2nd shift to cover multiple school buildings in the West Bloomfield School District. A valid driver’s license and your own vehicle are required to travel between sites.

Wage is $19.00 per hour with a $500 Hiring Bonus after 90 days and DailyPay available. Benefits include health, disability, life insurance, 401(k), PTO, holidays, and company training. Schedule is Monday–Friday with most hours on the 2nd shift.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial/janitorial experience.
• GED/High School Diploma
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to follow basic verbal and written instructions
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Must have valid driver’s license and your own vehicle for transportation
• Flexible availability

Responsibilities

• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• May remove stains from surfaces such as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using cleaning solutions.
• General cleaning of furniture, window sills, walls.
• Dust, wash walls, clean ceilings, and polish light fixtures.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas.
• Clean/stock all restrooms, janitorial closet and break rooms.
• Record and document cleaning functions on logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
• Report major safety items for repair.
• Setting up and cleaning after scheduled events
• General snow removal/lawn care as needed
• Ability to drive to more than one building in a work day
