Job summary

DM Burr Group is seeking a Full Time Custodial Floater to cover 1st and 2nd shifts in the West Bloomfield School District. You must provide your own vehicle to travel between campus buildings, and a valid driver’s license is required.

Wage is $19.00/hour with DailyPay options, plus benefits and company training. Schedule runs Monday through Friday, majority of hours on the 2nd shift.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial/janitorial experience.
• Must have GED/High School Diploma.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Use approved cleaning methods and materials to clean assigned facilities.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors; empty trash.
• Clean/restock restrooms, janitorial closets and break rooms.
• Record cleaning activities on logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance and assist with event setup/cleanup.
• Drive between multiple buildings as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as; auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• General cleaning furniture, window sills, and walls.
• Dust, wash walls, clean ceilings, and polish light fixtures.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas.
• Clean/stock all restroom, janitorial closet and break rooms.
• Record and document all cleaning functions on appropriate logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
• Report any major safety item for repair.
• Setting up and cleaning up after scheduled events
• General snow removal/lawn care as needed
• Ability to drive to more than one building in a work day

Position Requirements:

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Must have valid driver’s license and your own vehicle for transportation
