Job summary

Otsego Public Schools Inc. is seeking a Custodial staff member for the 2nd shift. This full-time position alternates between district buildings as needed, with a 2:00–10:30 p.m. schedule on weekdays and occasional events on Saturdays.

Starting pay is $16.44 per hour; position is in Michigan for the 2026-27 school year. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and a background check upon hire. Prior custodial experience is preferred.

• Experience with cleaning and custodial preferred.
• Background check required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Daily classroom cleaning, including trash, sweeping/vacuuming, spot mopping, and locking doors/windows.
• Daily restroom cleaning, disinfecting fixtures, trash, restocking soap/paper, graffiti and litter removal.
• Daily hallway cleaning, trash collection, trash disposal, sweeping/vacuuming, spot mopping floors.

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday, 2nd Shift (2:00 - 10:30 p.m.)
• Saturdays to provide custodial service at district events

Requirements:

• Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent
• Background check/fingerprints upon hire
• Experience with cleaning and custodial preferred

Duties:

• Daily classroom cleaning, including emptying trash, sweeping/vacuuming, spot mopping and locking of doors and windows.
• Daily restroom cleaning, including disinfecting all fixtures, emptying trash, refilling soap and paper products, and removing graffiti and litter.
• Daily hallway cleaning, including picking up trash, emptying trash, sweeping/vacuuming hallway and entry rugs, and spot mopping hard floors.
