Job summary

The Child Center of NY is seeking a Content Specialist to guide curriculum development, identify and acquire lesson resources, and coach staff in creating high-quality, content-rich lessons. You will collaborate with the Program Director to set educational themes and objectives across sites, while supporting staff professional development and ensuring effective project-based learning.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field, at least one year of supervisory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education, Youth Development, or related field.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience.
• Strong experience with curriculum planning for middle school-aged youth.
• Knowledge of youth development principles and theories.
• Knowledge of Common Core Standards.
• Experience coaching and training with leadership, conflict resolution and diplomacy skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
• Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Guides development of curriculum and assists in identifying and acquiring lesson resources.
• Aids staff in planning, writing and implementing high-quality, content-rich lessons.
• Observes and coaches staff in best practices for facilitation and lesson plan development.
• Collaborates with Program Director and school administration to identify themes and objectives for educational content.
• Supports staff in professional development to ensure program quality.
• Oversees staff implementation of Project-Based Learning and ensures timely submission of lesson plans.
