Job summary

Hands That Make A Difference Inc in New York is seeking a Content Specialist to support high-quality youth development programming under the DYCD COMPASS initiative. You will work with the Program Director to ensure activities, curricula, and enrichment opportunities are engaging, age-appropriate, and culturally responsive.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in education or related field.
• Minimum of two years' experience working with youth in educational or after-school settings.
• Experience designing or facilitating enrichment activities and youth programming.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, or supporting staff development preferred.
• Experience working with diverse youth populations and families preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of high-quality youth development programming.
• Assist in development and coordination of program schedules, enrichment activities, special events, and showcases.
• Ensure activities align with DYCD requirements and organizational goals.
• Support the creation and maintenance of program resources, activity guides, and instructional materials.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all participants.
• Provide coaching, guidance, and technical assistance to staff; conduct observations and feedback.
• Support onboarding, orientation, and training of new staff members.
• Model effective facilitation, classroom management, and youth engagement strategies.
• Assist the Program Director in identifying professional development opportunities and staff support needs.
• Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and organizational training initiatives.
• Support family engagement events, community partnerships, and effective communication with families.
