Job summary

PUDDLESTOMPERS is seeking a Part-Time educator to inspire young children (ages 2–9) and support families with nature-based learning.

The role combines teaching intermittent school vacation programs with administrative tasks, lesson prep, and gathering materials for activities in outdoor settings. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of outdoor education experience, is organized, and communicates effectively with families.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience teaching or writing curriculum for outdoor education programs or community science programs (preschooler level a plus).
• General knowledge and/or interest in science/nature.
• Dependable, responsible and organized.
• Fun-loving, creative and engaging.
• Experience in outdoor education and/or degree in the sciences is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prep lessons for PUDDLESTOMPERS programs
• Produce teaching aides, gather, clean and sort lesson materials
• Review lesson plans and develop and enhance current lessons
• Gather info for class handouts
• Research for STEM/STEAM – based projects and experiments
• Communicate with families about required forms, answer inquiries, distribute information
• Team Teacher at our school vacation programs (December, February, and April vacations)

Job description

Do you love to teach young children (ages 2-9) and have a passion for nature? Are

you creative, energetic, engaging and genuinely interested in connecting young

children (and their parents and caregivers) to the natural world?

PUDDLESTOMPERS’ mission is to connect the youngest naturalists, ages 2 to 9

years, to the open spaces that surround their homes. By providing families with

seeds of interest and tools of exploration, PUDDLESTOMPERS seeks to help build

the foundation for a lifelong enjoyment and love of the outdoors.

Responsibilities

This is a Part-Time 20/hour a week position which includes administrative work

and intermittent teaching at school vacation programs.

Programming and Class Production (weekly classes, family programs, enrichment,

• Prep lessons for PUDDLESTOMPERS programs
• Produce teaching aides, gather, clean and sort lesson materials
• Review lesson plans and develop and enhance current lessons
• Gather info for class handouts
• Research for STEM/STEAM – based projects and experiments
• Communicate with families about required forms, answer inquiries, distribute

information

• Receive & file necessary health forms (health records, consent forms, waivers,

and vaccination status records) for each participant in drop off programs

Teaching:

• Team Teacher at our school vacation programs (December, February, and April

vacations)
