Job summary

Providence College seeks a temporary, part-time Project Manager & Curatorial Assistant to support CROSSINGS: Wilderness Journeys through Art, Care, and Community, a grant-funded initiative for the Creative Arts Collective. This role averages about 22 hours per week from Oct 18, 2026, to Jun 30, 2027, under the Director & Chief Curator and PCG staff.

The position coordinates among artists, lenders, campus collaborators, community partners, and consultants, managing exhibition logistics,

Qualifications

• Master's degree in art history, museum studies, curatorial studies, arts administration, visual arts, humanities, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• Professional experience coordinating exhibitions, programs, projects, or other complex collaborative initiatives.
• Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple schedules and deadlines.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a project team.

Responsibilities

• Provide curatorial and community engagement research support under the Director & Chief Curator.
• Research and compile artist, artwork, lender, bibliographic, and contextual information for exhibition development.
• Draft materials for exhibition texts, interpretive content, and digital resources.
• Maintain exhibition checklists and organize artwork information, captions, and permissions.
• Coordinate information and deadlines with exhibition design, lighting, and fabrication teams.
• Assist with planning and implementation of project meetings and public programming.
