PC Galleries (PCG) seeks a temporary, part-time Project Manager & Curatorial Assistant to support CROSSINGS: Wilderness Journeys through Art, Care, and Community, a grant-funded initiative supported by the Creative Arts Collective for Christian Life & Faith. This position is for the duration of the project period, from October 18, 2026, through June 30, 2027. This position will average approximately 22 hours per week.
Working under the direction of the Director & Chief Curator and in collaboration with PCG staff, the Project Manager & Curatorial Assistant position serves as a central point of coordination among the project's artists, lenders, campus collaborators, community partners, and grant-funded consultants. The position manages assigned exhibition and program logistics throughout the initiative, including project schedules, meetings, documentation, communications, curatorial research, and the development of interpretive and project materials, as well as other duties as assigned.
Curatorial and Exhibition Production Support:
- Provide curatorial and community engagement research support under the direction of the Director & Chief Curator, including:
- Research and compile artist, artwork, lender, bibliographic, and contextual information needed for exhibition development and interpretation.
- Contribute research and draft materials for exhibition texts, interpretive materials, digital resources, and other public-facing content.
- Maintain exhibition checklists and organize artwork information, images, captions, credits, permissions, and related exhibition documentation.
- Support correspondence and coordination with participating artists, galleries, lenders, and other project contributors.
- Coordinate information and deadlines with exhibition design, lighting, fabrication, and other project specialists.
- Support exhibition planning and implementation in collaboration with PCG staff as assigned.
Programs, Publications, and Engagement:
- Assist with planning and implementation of project meetings, information sessions, workshops, and related engagement activities.
- Provide public programming coordination for the CROSSINGS opening, symposium, and related public programs, including schedules, participant information, travel arrangements, program materials, and other logistical needs.
- Coordinate production deadlines for the Crossings Reflection Guide.
- Support communication and scheduling with campus and community partners in coordination with the Director & Chief Curator and Community Liaison/Partner Facilitator.
Communications, Documentation, and Evaluation Support:
- Gather and organize project information, images, credits, schedules, and other materials for marketing and communications use.
- Coordinate scheduling and project access for photography, videography, interviews, and other documentation activities.
- Support the Evaluation Consultant by coordinating access to project information, schedules, participants, attendance information, and evaluation materials.
- Assist with organizing project documentation and media for final reporting, archival purposes, and submission to Providence College's Digital Commons.
- Master's degree in art history, museum studies, curatorial studies, arts administration, visual arts, humanities, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- Professional experience in a museum, gallery, arts organization, higher education environment, or related cultural setting.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating exhibitions, programs, projects, or other complex collaborative initiatives.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple schedules, deadlines, and workstreams.
- Demonstrated research, writing, editing, and information-management skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, establish priorities, and collaborate effectively within a project team.
- Proficiency with standard workplace productivity, file-sharing, and collaborative project-management tools (MS-Office, Teams).
Individual must be able to work occasional weekends and evening hours within the approved hours available.
