Job summary

The Department of Corrections invites applications for an Intern - Cultural Activities Coordinator (Fall/Spring) at Jameson Prison Annex, Sioux Falls, SD. Minimum wage is $18.83 per hour. Applicants must be enrolled as a student and may need to pass a background check and drug screening; preference may be given to SD residents and students

Qualifications

• Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at the time they apply.
• By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
• Preference may be given to juniors/seniors, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and coordination of cultural and religious programming for inmates.
• Provide support with routine operational tasks in a secure correctional environment.
• Assist with gathering information for investigations under supervision.
• Learn custody and security requirements and help with basic documentation or resource tracking.
