Qualifications

• Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply.
• By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
• Preference may be given to juniors/seniors, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.

Responsibilities

• Intern will work in business casual attire completing duties in a variety of areas and custody levels within the Correctional Facility.
• Intern students will work beside trained Correctional Professionals while inside the facility.
• Duties will include supervising offenders during meals, recreation, cell hall, work assignments, and disciplinary activities, and assisting with release planning and parole board preparation.
