Job summary

Alaska X in Skagway seeks a Culinary Support Staff member to prepare sandwiches and snack items for touring and retail operations, with occasional stocking tasks. Strong personal responsibility and high attention to detail are essential as work is often self-directed.

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, follow SOPs, and maintain safety and quality standards in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License.
• Valid CPR/First Aid Certificate.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Food Handlers Card - Alaska Serv Safe Card.

Responsibilities

• Ensures guests experience the excursion by attending to needs and asking questions, and notifies management of unhappy guests.
• Adheres to company SOPs to ensure safety, consistency and quality.
• Communicates accurate information to staff (radioing guest counts, coordinating with dock, etc.).
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
• Performs other tasks as needed to support company goals.

Job Summary

The position serves primarily to make sandwiches and snack items for our touring and retail operations. From time to time, will also undertake stocking and shopping tasks. Must have a high attention to detail and a strong sense of personal responsibility as the position will often be left to manage their workload and time at their discretion.

Key Responsibilities

Ensures guests experience the “E.X.C.U.R.S.I.O.N. of a lifetime” by being attentive to the needs and/or wants of the guests, answering all questions guests may have throughout the excursion, and notifying management of unhappy guests and/or obtaining guests information for management to contact them.

Employees expected to adhere to the company’s standard operating procedures to ensure consistency, safety, and quality in our operations. Your cooperation in following these guidelines is essential for maintaining our high standards and achieving our organizational goals.

Communicates accurate information to the appropriate staff when required and as needed (radioing in the guest count to dog camp, radioing to the office when appropriate, communicating with the dock representatives, etc.)

Working Conditions

• Position involves frequent sitting, standing, and walking
• Must be able to lift and carry buckets weighing up to 40lbs for a distance of 200 feet (usually no more than 30 minutes a day is spent performing this activity)
