Job summary

Village Inn is seeking a line cook to produce and maintain the quality of menu items according to recipes and standards. You will ensure safety, sanitation and timely service for each order.

You will work with others on prep, portioning, stocking, and keeping the kitchen clean and organized. A positive attitude, teamwork, and flexible scheduling including nights, days, weekends and holidays are essential.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of work or related experience preferred.
• Must be able to work flexible schedule including nights, days, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Timeliness: Station ready at scheduled time in proper uniform.
• Pace: Brisk and steady, organized, minimal unnecessary steps.
• Recipe adherence: 100% recipe knowledge when prepping or assisting with production steps.
• Portioning: Use scales and measuring tools; perform portion-control tests.
• Keep kitchen and equipment clean; practice clean as you go; maintain safety and OSHA guidelines.
• Receiving, rotating and stocking food; prep support as needed.
• Teamwork and communication with others to ensure safety and quality.
