Job summary

Wooddale Church in Minnesota seeks a Cook/Kitchen Steward to support daily food service operations across church events, catering, and Academy locations. You will assist with food prep, safety, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization in all kitchen spaces.

The role requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with staff, volunteers, and ministry teams to deliver hospitality that reflects Wooddale Church’s mission.

Qualifications

• Culinary degree or equivalent professional food service training.
• Three years of culinary or food service experience preferred.
• ServSafe Manager Certification required or ability to obtain.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and sanitation.
• Valid MN driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Multitask and maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work independently and in a team, with volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, menus, schedules and quality standards.
• Assist with catering, events, meetings, and Academy programs.
• Receive, store, and rotate food and supplies using FIFO practices.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, sanitation and safe handling throughout the day.
• Assist with dishwashing, cleaning duties, and event setup/breakdown.
