The DC Army National Guard seeks a Food Service Specialist to provide meals for Soldiers, plan and prep menus, and serve food while ensuring safety and sanitation in field or fixed facilities.

You will learn to plan, prepare, and deliver nutritious meals, and develop skills for civilian dining careers in kitchens and institutions. Training includes 10 weeks of basic training and nine weeks of advanced individual training.

Qualifications

• Must enlist in the Army National Guard.
• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Age range 17–35 and ability to pass a physical exam.

Responsabilités

• Bake, fry, braise, boil, simmer, steam and sauté as prescribed by Army recipes.
• Operate, maintain and clean field kitchen equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on garrison and field kitchen equipment.
