The DC Army National Guard is seeking a Food Service Specialist to provide nutritious meals for Soldiers, in garrison or in the field. You’ll learn to plan menus, prepare and serve food, and ensure food safety and sanitation according to Army recipes.

Your duties include operating and maintaining field kitchen equipment, managing supplies, and supporting meals for both small teams and large units. Training is paid and careers can translate to civilian kitchens.

Qualifications

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
• Must be between the ages of 17 and 35.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet standards.

Responsabilités

• Bake, fry, braise, boil, simmer, steam and sauté as prescribed by Army recipes.
• Operate, maintain and clean field kitchen equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on garrison and field kitchen equipment.
