Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Food Service Specialist to provide meals and manage dietary needs for Soldiers, in field or fixed facilities. You will plan and prep menus, prepare and serve food, and ensure food safety and sanitation.

Training includes basic and Advanced Individual Training, with opportunities to pursue civilian food service careers after service. Paid training, enlistment benefits, and tuition assistance are available.

Qualifications

• Must be military enlistee in Army National Guard.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet standards.
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old.
• Requires high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Bake, fry, braise, boil, simmer, steam and sauté as prescribed by Army recipes.
• Operate, maintain and clean field kitchen equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on garrison and field kitchen equipment.
