Job summary

Ohio Living in Ohio is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to manage culinary operations, ensuring high-quality meals, strict sanitation, and cost controls across shifts. The role collaborates with Nursing, Maintenance, and Housekeeping to deliver exceptional resident service.

The position requires ServSafe certification, 2 years in food service, and 1 year of supervisory experience, with strong proficiency in Windows and POS systems. On-site work in a senior care setting is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ServSafe certification required or willing to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
• Two years experience in a food service and/or hospitality environment required.
• One year experience in food service and/or hospitality supervision preferred.
• Knowledge of service operations with focus on quality, sanitation, cost control, and presentation required.
• Knowledge of food and catering trends with focus on quality, production, sanitation, and presentation required.
• Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and the internet required.
• Proficiency with POS and diet management software preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and assists in preparation of all products and meals so they are palatable and appetizing in appearance by following planned menus.
• Ensures timely and efficient meal service by being available in service areas at meal times.
• Coordinates services and activities with other departments (e.g. Nursing, Maintenance, Housekeeping).
• Assists in maintaining department in a clean and safe manner by following sanitation schedule and disposing of food and waste properly.
• Maintains records in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Executes special events and participates in planning and preparation.
• Maintains stock levels and inventory accuracy through ordering and monitoring supplies.
