Job summary

Pavilion Healthcare on Main Street is seeking a Director of Culinary Services to lead the Dietary Department, ensure high-quality meals, safety and regulatory compliance, and partner with nursing and admin to meet resident needs.

Responsibilities include staffing, menu planning, inventory control, training dietary staff, overseeing storage and sanitation, and maintaining records. Strong leadership and communication in English required; high school diploma with culinary education preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Culinary arts education preferred.
• At least one year as Dietary Aide/Technician or RD preferred.
• At least three years dietary managerial experience in health care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages department staff, scheduling, review writing, and policy enforcement.
• Handles direct reports’ complaints.
• Assists Administrator in planning and directing the department and programs.
• Reviews plans of correction after surveys and provides written copies to Administrator.
• Processes diet changes and new diets from nursing services.
• Participates in facility surveys and inspections.
• Interviews residents or families to obtain diet history.
• Maintains records of residents' food likes/dislikes.
• Develops methods to determine quality and quantity of food served.
• Ensures menus are maintained and filed per policy.
• Reviews dietary requirements for new residents.
• Ensures storage and prep areas are clean, safe, and sanitary.
• Monitors staff to enforce safety regulations with equipment and supplies.
• All other duties as assigned.
